You know basic white is probably what I need in that straightjacket. No reason screwing around and looking for colors..........just go basic and call it good. Today was one of those days that I would have just sat in the straightjacket...........no fight......nothing. Just put me in it. I won't even rock or anything........just put me in it and get me away from the little people.
You know I just feel terrible saying that but really I have learned that there is a reason why I work 9 months out of the year. I love my kids..........I love my job....................I now love my job more because of my kids. It isn't meant to be mean, I just know that I could not stay at home everyday of the year and do this job. I struggle to find the balance between work and school during the school year, but seriously...........this full time home mom gig isn't for me.
Today was the day of beating the tar out of each other.........every time I turned around they were into something and then beating each other. I really needed to go to the grocery store, but soon figured out that wasn't going to work. They did spend about a half hour this morning collecting spare change...........maybe from Jeff's pants pockets........and putting it in a purse...........that was as good as it got all day. I tried to get them to go outside to play.....no go. Tried the coloring attempt.......yeah Kennedy wanted to color too.........she broke a crayon............you know that no matter what color it was that was everyone else's favorite color. UMM HMM. Delaney took a 30 minute nap and let me just say she continued the rest of the day being extremely HAPPY and being a total joy to everyone around.
We went to Granny Smith's tonight. On the way over Delaney remembers she forgot her money. Good thing we were going to Grandma's she said...............and I said why because she spoils you for free? And Delaney's response was "Yeah she is great!" That is as good as compliments get from her.
We got to mom's and Delaney managed to get a big jar of strawberry rhubarb jam...........nothing like being subtle............reminding Grandma that we were out of that jelly that she had on the cupboard. Mom tried giving her a small jar and she put it back up on the counter and said we will take the big one. Maybe she is learning!! HE HE HE
Kid Moments:
I was sitting in a dark house last night unable to sleep and kept seeing something blinking. Yeah lightening bugs........loose in my house. Seriously. This just happens to everyone right? I am quite sure that they just got into the house right?
We also got to taunt Granny's cat for about 30 minutes tonight. Amazing to me no matter where that cat goes they can find her. They would kill a cat at our house. Also today was a record for us here at the Hall House........4 days between us letting the dog loose. That dog sees the light and is gone in an instant. Of course this happened to be the point at which Delaney and Jackson were supposed to be napping, and Jackson spots a butterfly out his bedroom window and is immediately out the door.............and there goes the dog. Maybe it is like his Calgon for him to run and not have the kids after him.............I don't know where he goes, but he comes back and seems unwound. Maybe tomorrow I will go with him.............
