Gingerbread letters

gingerbread letters to a kindergarten class in Texas.............

HERE IS THE LETTER TO THE PARENTS:
When we return from Thanksgiving, we will have a big adventure during the month of December. We will read several versions of The Gingerbread Man to the children. Each class will have a stuffed gingerbread man in our room to connect the children with this character from the story. The gingerbread man in our rooms will “disappear” and we will discover that he’s run away from us, just like in the story! After predictable hysteria, we will start making a plan to get him back. We will write letters to him and involve the children in solving the mystery. We will learn about many new places and integrate history and social studies with great excitement! Please help us with this adventure, by having your friends and relatives send postcards from around the country (or even overseas if you can) to report sightings of our missing gingerbread man. Each postcard will be attached to a map and tracked. To keep it exciting, please ask your friends and family to:
• Write as if they were the gingerbread man. For example, “Hi boys and girls, here I am in sunny Florida. I decided to stop by and see Mickey Mouse. He was fast but he still couldn’t catch me!”
• Please ask them to send the card like this: “Dear Ms. Adams’ Class“. The class will be so excited to get cards addressed to them.
• Start sending those in and I’ll hold on to them until we begin. The mail gets bogged down during this time, so contact your friends and family right away!!!
PS…This is a secret, so please don’t tell your kindergartner about it.
